Code of Conduct
Last updated 8 October 2026
Our commitment
We want every member, whatever their background, university, course, nationality, gender, sexuality, religion, disability or experience, to feel welcome to build here. This code applies at our events, on the platform, and in our community channels such as our WhatsApp Community.
Expected behaviour
- Be generous with what you know. Everyone starts somewhere.
- Give honest, respectful feedback: critique ideas, not people.
- In podcast Q&As, ask in good faith. Don't use questions to pitch, recruit or ask guests for investment; connect through the usual channels instead.
- Respect people's time and consent: one follow-up is fine, repeated unanswered messages are not.
- Respect confidentiality. Don't share someone's idea, pitch deck or personal details without permission.
- Represent yourself honestly: your role, your startup's traction, your experience.
Not acceptable
- Harassment, discrimination, intimidation or unwanted sexual attention of any kind.
- Using the directory or events for spam, aggressive sales, pyramid schemes or mass recruitment.
- Taking photos or recordings of people who've asked not to be recorded.
- Misusing other people's data, or scraping the member directory.
Reporting
If something makes you uncomfortable, tell anyone from our team at an event, or use the Report option on a profile or listing. Reports are handled privately by our team. We may warn, suspend or remove members who break this code, and will contact the relevant authorities if someone's safety is at risk.
